TOSHIBA TEC signs agreement with Perfection Automatiseringen

TOSHIBA TEC signs preferred supplier agreement with system integrator Perfection Automatiseringen in The Netherlands

Amersfoort/Tilburg, The Netherlands, February 2010 – TOSHIBA TEC has become a preferred supplier to Perfection Automatiseringen, a Dutch system integrator specialized in the SME market with a particular focus on garden centres.

Perfection now includes the energy efficient TOSHIBA TEC WILLPOS A20 and B20 POS systems in their solutions portfolio for garden centers. The system integrator currently provides software and support to already 200 of a total of the country’s 520 garden centres with its Microsoft Windows-based HelixPro 2005 flagship software suite. TOSHIBA TEC’s POS hardware runs Windows Embedded for Point of Service (WEPOS), part of the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems.

Garden centres are continuously looking for comprehensive business management systems designed to improve customer order management and point-of-sale operations, tighten inventory management processes, and provide management with accurate and timely business data. Perfection Automatiseringen has a strong track record that goes back 21 years enhancing the efficiency of retail outlet operations.

Perfection also has a long-standing relationship with TOSHIBA TEC Auto ID division which provides expertise in logistics and supply chain operations; and from here it was only a small step to trial TOSHIBA TEC’s retail solutions.

Stef van der Steen, Managing Director Perfection Automatiseringen: “We are genuinely delighted to partner with TOSHIBA TEC. They bring a most complete product catalogue for professionals to us combined with exquisite service facilities. Our agreement allows for repairs to be carried out; we are highly sensitive to the fact that every disruption at the point of sale end is disastrous. We are now able to provide the reassuring support of weekend service, hardware exchange and a Service Level Agreement that includes a defined response time from our side.”

The advantages for the retailer:

  • Speed: TOSHIBA TEC POS check out times are among the Best in Class;
  • Connectivity to POS-systems is retail-hardened and complete. POS hardware is designed for retail operations and come with more and longer-lasting peripheral connectivity than any consumer PC.
  • Compact footprint, minimal cabling at the check out;
  • Recyclable chromium-free metal and halogen-free plastics (RoHS and WEEE compliant);
  • Recyclable packaging;
  • Long lifecycle and low power consumption throughout;
  • Maintenance is easy and fast.

“Another advantage with TOSHIBA TEC is their offering of Electronic Shelf Labels,” Van der Steen said. “We see plenty of potential at our customer base in terms of products and services for ESL. And most importantly, our customers agree. One trial at garden centre ‘Het Oosten’ in Aalsmeer led to the immediate purchase of 10 systems.”

Gerard Pruijn, sales director TOSHIBA TEC The Netherlands: “Perfection Automatiseringen is a highly respected system integrator within the garden centre retail segment. They provide a truly complete set of retail automation solutions, including back office data consolidation implementations and web shop installations. They are a perfect partner for TOSHIBA TEC with which we aim to further broaden our footprint in this growing market segment.”
