Toshiba at PostExpo 2009: Proudly wearing Green

Monozukuri: Creating Solutions with pride and passion - Keeping customers in mind all the time and everywhere.

HANOVER/BRUSSELS, August 2009 – Toshiba Corporation will showcase the multiplier effect of Toshiba technologies at PostExpo 2009, to be held at Deutsche Messe in Hanover, Germany Sept 29 – October 1 2009.

Toshiba is a leading provider of automated solutions for postal facilities, supplying its customers with an integrated set of leading-edge technologies in high-speed paper handling, image processing, OCR recognition and much more. The combination of key Toshiba technologies produced Toshiba’s reliable Culler Facer Cancellers and Letter Sorting Machines.

Toshiba provides material handling solutions for postal facilities, parcel distribution, manufacturing operations and for warehouse and distribution facilities.

The company designs, delivers and deploys advanced Retail and Auto ID solutions (including state of the art RFID technology) at both the front end and at the back-office. The company also implements warehouse control systems and total material handling automation as well as Third-Party Maintenance services throughout Europe.

The PostExpo 2009 Product Line Up is available in a separate overview.

Technology Partners

TOSHIBA TEC’s Print System for XML B002 has certified for SAP® NetWeaver® status while Oracle® has approved the Toshiba SX-series RFID-enabled printers to facilitate supplier compliance with RFID mandates from major business organisations across the globe.

A Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, TOSHIBA TEC is able to integrate all front-office and some back-office business processes supporting mail, retail, and banking services. It uses a centralised but open and scalable system and is vital in helping post organisations achieve its overall strategy of greater efficiency and marketing dynamism.

Services

“The engineering and project management teams at TOSHIBA TEC understand the unique demands of postal organisations and work closely to create “Best Practice” systems suited for your organisation,” Nobuhiko Takao, CEO and President TOSHIBA TEC Europe said. “La Poste in France and Deutsche Post here in Germany confide in us with our hardware as well as through a multi-year Services Program. DHL Global Forwarding uses TOSHIBA TEC RFID-ready printers as well as our services for their 24/7 freight shipments.”

Green Credentials

Through Toshiba’s voluntary program “Environmental Vision 2050” it is contributing to the future of a sustainable world as a leading eco-company with superior eco-technologies and eco-products. The Toshiba family’s product portfolio includes Green IT, high efficiency lighting, carbon capture and storage, solar photovoltaic power, complete RFID solutions, ruggedized industrial touch screen technology, digital signage and more under one single roof. Our entire product range in Europe is fully complaint with both WEEE and RoHS. The RoHS Directive stipulated the abolition of six harmful substances. TOSHIBA TEC voluntarily will abolish nine more or a total of 15 such substances by FY 2010.

Usui Sayaka, Managing Director Toshiba Social Infrastructure Europe said: “Our system configuration capabilities are able to meet the most diverse requirements. We want to present the multiplier effect of Toshiba’s strengths – our innovative new technology products and services that create great value for society.”
