TOSHIBA TEC wins coveted international iF product design award

TOKYO/HANOVER, November 2011 – Germany’s iF International Forum Design assigned one of the world’s most prestigious design awards to TOSHIBA TEC’s advanced DB-EA4D label printer.

Organised by the independent iF International Forum Design GmbH, the iF product design award is considered as one of the most prestigious design awards with over 2600 product entries of 48 countries and 16 categories from around the globe.

With a heritage that goes back over 50 years the iF International Forum Design GmbH is responsible for the renowned iF design awards.

The international jury recognized outstanding achievement and excellence in the TOSHIBA TEC DB-EA4D barcode label printer following a rigorous procedure of its assessment program that included:

  • design quality
  • finish
  • choice of materials
  • degree of innovation
  • environmental impact
  • functionality
  • ergonomics
  • visualization of intended use
  • safety
  • brand value + branding
  • universal design

“Each year, winning products set new standards for the R&D community to follow,”  Mr. Frank Zierenberg the responsible Manager for the iF product design award at iF International Forum Design said. “This year the Toshiba EB-EA4D passed our stringent criteria to represent best practice Design for sustainability, functionality and degree of innovation and is a deserving winner of this award.”

The compact, rugged and robust DB-EA4D double-sided label printer has been designed to offer a low-cost and green solution for applications requiring dual output.

With user-friendly operation and high-speed printing, this innovative technology provides a reliable and efficient alternative to traditional single-sided solutions.

The iF product design award offers an important platform to have one’s product’s design quality professionally validated by an international jury of experts.

At the iF design awards night next February at BMW World in Munich, the iF gold award winners will be presented with this special honor in front of the who's who in international design, media and business. The TOSHIBA TEC DB-EA4D barcode label printer will also be shown online within the iF online exhibition which will be updated and relaunched next February.

All award-winning entries from one year will also be presented - either live or as multi-media installations at the iF design exhibition in Hanover, Germany which will run in parallel to CeBIT trade show in March 2012.

In addition, all 2011 award-winning entries will be on display at a multi-media exhibition in the city of Haikou on Hainan Island in China that will last for several months.
